We’re an established optometric practice with locations in Bristow, Oakton and Stone Ridge, Virginia. We provide complete family eye care including comprehensive adult and pediatric eye exams, contact lens fittings, diagnosis and management of eye diseases, and emergency eye care services. We also carry a large selection of fashion eyewear for adults and children, sunglasses and accessories.

Our team of experienced doctors has proudly served Northern Virginia since 1997 and we accept most insurance plans.

Our Doctors

Dr. Tiffany Dunbar Lione

Dr. Tiffany Lione, a longtime resident of northern Virginia, has been practicing optometry since 1998 in both private practice and refractive surgery. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and Northern Virginia Optometric Association. Additionally, Dr. Lione serves as a clinical examiner for the National Board of Optometry.

Dr. Lione graduated in the top of her class at Virginia Tech in biology/premed. She then studied at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she received her Doctorate of Optometry. Dr. Lione then entered a challenging residency program in Northeast Philadelphia where she worked with top ophthalmologists in the fields of primary care, refractive surgery, corneal and retinal disease, and emergency eye care.

Dr. Lione is a founding partner of Associates in Eyecare and practices regularly in Stone Ridge, Virginia. She currently lives in Northern Virginia, with her husband, their two children, and the family dog.

Dr. Hieu Vu-Gia

Dr. Hieu Vu-Gia grew up in Connecticut and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University in New York City. Pursuing an interest in optometry led him to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia where he earned his Doctor of Optometry. After graduation, Dr. Vu-Gia moved to the Washington, DC, metropolitan area and has been in practice here since 1996. He currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife and two children.

Dr. Vu-Gia is a highly trained optometrist with extensive experience in primary eye care, treatment and management of eye diseases, contact lenses, and the co-management of refractive surgery (especially in Laser Vision Correction). He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association, and is also a clinical examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.

As a founding partner of Associates in Eyecare, Dr. Vu-Gia is proud to have pursued his dream of building a practice with a tradition of excellence in eye care. Patients enjoy his outgoing personality and caring attitude. Dr. Vu-Gia is dedicated to providing years of family eye care with the highest standards of professionalism and optometric service to his patients.

Dr. Paul Colbourne

Dr. Paul Colbourne, a graduate of George Mason University, received his Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He possesses extensive experience in complete family eye care, contact lens fitting, treatment and management of ocular disease, and surgical co-management (including Laser Vision Correction). He is a member of the American Optometric Association and Northern Virginia Optometric Association.

Dr. Colbourne practices in Bristow, and Ashburn. He currently lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and their two children.

Dr. Amir Abyaneh

Dr. Amir Abyaneh is the newest member of the Associates in Eyecare team. Originally from Herndon, VA, Dr. Abyaneh is happy to be practicing in his home town area. He received his Bachelor of Science from The James Madison University, and his Doctorate of Optometry from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Dr. Abyaneh is a primary care optometrist with extensive training in diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, children’s vision disorders, and contacts lenses. He has a keen interest in specialty contact lens fits, especially bifocal/multifocal contacts, Ortho-K (corneal reshaping therapy), post refractive surgery, post injuries, or due to eye diseases such as keratoconus. Dr. Abyaneh is a member of the Virginia Optometric Association and sits on the board for our local association, the Northern VA Optometric Society.

As a native of Northern Virginia, Dr. Abyaneh is a die hard Redskins fan. In his spare time, he enjoys running and basketball. As the newest member of the team, Dr. Abyaneh will be seeing patients in the Stone Ridge office, and is looking forward to providing the best optometric care and service to his patients.

Dr. Tressa Larson

Dr. Tressa Larson grew up in Prince George’s County, Maryland and is very happy to be back in the DC area. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees at West Virginia University and her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry of Salus University. Dr. Larson is currently pursuing a Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Larson completed a challenging residency program in northeastern Philadelphia where she completed specialty rotations in neuro-ophthalmology, glaucoma, emergency medicine, special populations, anterior segment disease, oculoplastics, and retina. She has a special interest in Dry Eye Syndrome as well as Geriatrics and is Associates in Eyecare’s expert on Optical Coherence Tomography; an extremely sensitive imaging device that is used to obtain detailed images from within the retina to help early diagnosis of certain eye diseases.

Dr. Larson lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and daughter and practices in Ashburn and Bristow. She is best known for her fierce dedication to excellence and thoroughness in eye care, and enjoys lecturing on various topics.
